The project was designed, prototyped, and implemented in a 10 week term. The focus of the project was implementing an audio amplifier from my existing knowledge of amplifiers and what I learned in ECE323 (Electronics II), while following a strict set of specifications.<\/p>\n<h3>Project Specification<\/h3>\n<p>The requirements for the project are as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Two channels<\/li>\n<li>USB Powered<\/li>\n<li>Outputs at least 92dB (audio)<\/li>\n<li>Uses only discrete components<\/li>\n<li>Total harmonic distortion less than 30%<\/li>\n<li>Adjustable Volume (Gain)<\/li>\n<li>System draws less than 500mA (as limited by the USB Standard)<\/li>\n<li>Receives audio from a computer<\/li>\n<li>PCB Assembly<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For more information, my final project specification will be uploaded later.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/nickmccomb.net\/college\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/323_AudioAmplifier-Schematic-Only.pdf\">Final Schematic (Schematic Only)<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Do note, that I tweaked the resistor values that I used while assembling the board to match nominal specifications.<\/p>\n<h3>PCB<\/h3>\n<p>Visit the <a href=\"https:\/\/nickmccomb.net\/college\/printed-circuit-boards\/ece-323-audio-amplifier-pcb\">documentation page for the PCB [link]<\/a> to view related information (schematic, design files, etc.).<\/p>\n<h3>Testing<\/h3>\n<div style=\"clear:both;\"><\/div><div class=\"ast_vid  \"><div class=\"responsive-container\"><iframe class=\"vid_iframe\" style=\" width: 100%; height: 100%;\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/iVjY0oyRo7k?rel=0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Project Summary This project was a USB Powered Audio Amplifier designed to take input from a 3.5mm audio device.
